Mihir Shah
Mihir is the CIO and Managing Partner at Meritus Capital. He has over 15 years of investing experience in the Indian public markets. From 2014 to 2022, he was a sector lead at Amansa Capital in Singapore, and from 2010 to 2014, he was Vice President at India Capital in Mumbai. Prior to that, he was a technology analyst in Goldman Sachs' Equities Division in New York from 2005 to 2008.
He holds an MBA with High Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2010) where he was named a Siebel Scholar (top 5 in his class). He holds an MS in Computer Science from Columbia University (2005), and a BE in Computer Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai (2003). He is a CFA Charterholder.
Viraj Yadav
Viraj is a sector lead at Meritus Capital where he is responsible for the financial, consumer, and service sectors. He was previously an Associate at Avendus Capital in their investment banking division. Prior to Avendus, Viraj was a Manager at ACT Fibernet, where he was responsible for revenue and product management of their value-added services portfolio.
Viraj graduated with an MBA from IIM-A in 2024 and a BA (Eco) from UCLA in 2020.
Jayesh Tandel
Jayesh is responsible for all operational matters at Meritus Capital. He was previously a Senior Accounts Control Officer at ING Australia in Sydney. Prior to ING, he was a market research consultant with EY Sweeney, also in Sydney. Jayesh was previously a Financial Analyst at JP Morgan Chase where he worked in the Fixed Income Middle Office, and the Fund Service teams.
Jayesh graduated with an MBA from the University of Technology Sydney in 2021, and a Bachelors of Management Studies from Mumbai University in 2014.
Jayant Gupchup
Jayant drives the technology and AI efforts at Meritus. He was previously an Engineering Manager at Uber where he bootstrapped and led the ML/data science team that personalized the app’s homepage. Prior to that he was a Principal Engineering Manager at Microsoft, where he drove consumer features and performance improvements of the Teams product.
Jayant graduated with a PhD in Computer Science and an MS in Applied Statistics from Johns Hopkins University in 2012, and a BE in Computer Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai in 2003.
